Hirohiko Oda (1953–2009) was born as the eldest son of the Western-style painter Hiroki Oda, and was himself a painter who created works featuring figures, flowers and European cityscapes. He exhibited his works at events such as the Nika Exhibition, developing a unique style characterised by soft colour tones and a dreamlike atmosphere superimposed upon scenes evoking female figures and music.

His works possess a poetic quality, as if he were reconstructing scenes from memory rather than depicting real landscapes as they are. Figures, flowers and the lights of the city blend quietly together, creating a sense that time flows slowly. His delicate lyricism, distinct from that of his father, is a particular source of appeal.
